Family Rugby Day
A big thank you to all the students, parents, carers & staff who took part in the inaugural Family Rugby Day on Saturday 17th March 2018.
The afternoon began with a student touch rugby competition featuring 4 teams in a round robin format. Despite freezing temperatures and flurries of snow, the students produced some scintillating rugby under the expert refereeing of a frozen Mr South! It was a close fought tournament with eventual winning team ‘The Freshers’ taking the title on points difference. Well done to all the teams and players involved!
Following the completion of the tournament it was time to defrost with hot drinks, pies, hot dogs and chips from the PTSA food & drink stall before settling down to watch the England v Ireland 6 Nations match on the big screen. An enthralling game saw Ireland win to clinch a 6 Nations Grand Slam, much to the delight of the Irish supporters in the room and ensuring a fitting celebration on St Patrick’s Day.
Not only did everyone have a great fun afternoon but the event also raised a further £300 towards the PTSA Mini-Bus Appeal so thank you all those who came out to support this wonderful new event.
