Wider Learning

We have a comprehensive and varied Wider Learning offering for Ealing Fields students.

Our Wider Learning offering reflects the beliefs of the 10:10 ethic: that we all have good within us; that we all need to seek out teams and communities to help us develop; and that we all have a responsibility to share our gifts and skills with the communities of which we are a part.

Students have the opportunity to develop their skills over time by belonging to a wide range of extra-curricular clubs, activities and projects. There is a huge range of opportunities, from Origami Club to Creative Writing Club.

Every year, there is a school production, with students already working hard on this year’s production of Legally Blonde. The school production is always a huge success – an amazing way to build confidence and friendships, as well as a source of joy for those both on and off stage.

Ealing Fields has many thriving sports teams, with staff and external coaches supporting them. These include girls’ and boys’ football, basketball, netball, tennis, athletics and our famous NFL teams, to name just a few.

Our TfL Pioneers work hard each year towards achieving the Gold Award for the school, leading projects that encourage sustainable travel, care for the environment and responsible stewardship of our resources.

The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award is offered to Year 10 students at Bronze level, and over half of each year group chooses to take part each year.

Participation in Wider Learning is a core expectation at Ealing Fields High School, reflecting our school motto of ‘Leading with Courage and Compassion’. We encourage students never simply to do the minimum, but instead to develop into leaders who make the most of every opportunity. Students receive positive conduct points for their involvement in extra-curricular activities and Wider Learning, and their achievements are regularly celebrated in assemblies, tutor times and Community Home.
